Vedalam shows Ajith’s ‘opening’ supremacy in Tamil Nadu

Ajith Kumar’s Vedalam, despite lukewarm reviews across the board, has managed to survive the huge threat posed by torrential rains over the last week and edged past Rs. 50 crores in Tamil Nadu box office in its seven-day run. As Chennai regains its normalcy, it will be interesting to see how the film performs this week.

The film strongly positions Ajith’s opening supremacy in the state and has left all the stakeholders extremely happy. One of the main reasons for the film’s success in TN is that it was traded in the market in good order. The film is also doing well in other markets though not as good as its extra-ordinary performance in TN.

Ajith is currently recuperating after a knee-surgery which was performed last week in Chennai. His next film with director Siva will roll out likely from June, 2016.
