Taapsee to share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan

According to sources, Taapsee, who was last seen in Tamil in Vai Raja Vai, has signed a huge project in Bollywood. She will share screen space with Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan for a film, to be produced by Shoojit Sarcar of Piku fame and directed by national award-winning Bengali filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury.

Taapsee will be playing a role of an independent girl from New Delhi in the film. As someone who was born and brought in the capital, this role should be a cakewalk for the Kanchana 2 actress, whose last Hindi film Baby alongside Akshay Kumar received raves for her performance. Taapsee signed two projects last year in Tamil including Jai-Thiru’s untitled film and Kaan with Selvaraghavan. Both films have been reportedly shelved due to lack of funds to keep the clock ticking.

There are also reports that Taapsee Paanu is in talks to play the lead heroine in the Kaththi Hindi remake which is titled Ikka. The remake is bankrolled by Lyca Productions and stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role.
