Yennai Arindhaal Teaser Review

After an unprecedented fan frenzy on social media platforms with worldwide trends, the much-anticipated teaser of Ajith’s Yennai Arindhaal is finally out now.

“ஒரு மெலிசான கோடு. கோடுக்கு இந்த பக்கம் இருந்தா நான் நல்லவன். அந்த பக்கம் போயிட்டா நான் ரொம்ப கெட்டவன். இந்த பக்கமா இல்ல அந்த பக்கமானு முடிவு பண்ண நேரம் வந்துச்சு வாழ்க்கைல. ஒரு நாள் வாழ்க்கை என்ன ஒருத்தனா மாத்துச்சு. என்னை அறிந்தால்!”

These are the powerful lines delivered by Ajith Kumar in the teaser. The opening shot of Dan Macarthur shows the back of a discliplined Ajith (in a cop makeover? கோடுக்கு இந்த பக்கம் இருந்தா நான் நல்லவன்). Then, the subsequent shots show Ajith’s romantic interests – Trisha and Anushka in two gorgeous, adorable frames. But, the showstopper in these shots is Thala, who dons his favorite salt-and-pepper look. Then, the consequent shots show Ajith taking his gun, unswirling his knife (அந்த பக்கம் போயிட்டா நான் ரொம்ப கெட்டவன்). The opening shot of the teaser is cleverly revealed now with Ajith, who looks conspicuously pensive (இந்த பக்கமா இல்ல அந்த பக்கமானு முடிவு பண்ண நேரம் வந்துச்சு வாழ்க்கைல). Gun shots blaze from the rugged-looking gangsta Ajith’s pistol with the closing lines ( ஒரு நாள் வாழ்க்கை என்ன ஒருத்தனா மாத்துச்சு. என்னை அறிந்தால்!).

The teaser looks like another action-based, police-turned-gangster (or undercover cop?) hero story from Gautham Menon, a somewhat different premise from his previous cop installments Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu and Kaakkha Kaakkha. The teaser, though does not give goosebumps, offers modest hair-raising moments anchored by Harris Jayaraj’s elemental yet pounding background score. Arun Vijay, who reportedly plays the antagonist, is conspicuous by his absence and it evidently hints that he has a meaty role in the film. Ajith fans will surely enjoy the 59-sec long teaser and must be on cloud nine by now. AJITH’s dialogue delivery oozes calm and composure just like the man’s real-life personality and it’s undoubtedly our PICK of the teaser.
