Sales and Performance Report of Kabali Album

The music of Kabali which was launched on the night of Saturday, June 11, has gone on to generate tremendous response in all manner of sales. A source close to Think Music (the releasing music label) elaborated in detail on Kabali’s extraordinary performance,

“On Day 1, we sold out all the 10,000 CDs where were readied as part of the first batch. In the second batch of 5000 CDs, more than 4000 have been sold out already. At a time when the physical CD market is all but non-existent, only a Superstar Rajini film can sell like this.

We expect around 1 crore (10 million) views in our YouTube channel in the first week, for the five songs put together. Neruppu Da has clocked 2 million views already. The likes to dislikes ratio is very very high.

The 5 songs are doing their rounds in Chennai’s FMs already and Neruppu Da and Ulagam Oruvanukka grabbed the Top 2 spots on Monday itself, with 33 radio plays each. The other songs are picking up gradually.

And all those who initially listened to the pirated, low quality versions of the songs in other sites and in WhatsApp are now returning to the official versions on YouTube and our other partners like Gaana, Saavn and Doo Paa Doo. These partners are also getting millions of clicks for Kabali’s songs.”

Kabali seems to have come as a whiff of fresh air for the Tamil film music industry as a whole. Way to go …
