Graphic designer arrested for leaking Baahubali 2 war sequence

On Monday, an unedited 2.57-minute-long video of Baahubali 2 was leaked on the web, leaving the entire team unhappy and shocked. But, the makers have swiftly nabbed the culprit. Apparently, the person behind the leak was Krishna Dayanand Chowdary, a trainee graphics designer who is working in Annapurna Studios.

Reports say that the team had outsourced 12 minutes of raw footage to Annapurna Studios for graphics designing work and Krishna had apparently copied 9 minutes of the footage to his computer and sent 5 minutes of the sequence to two of his friends on WhatsApp.

“It is very unfortunate that a small unfinished video clip of @BaahubaliMovie was leaked online yesterday. Person responsible for the leak was identified with the help of security features in place and was arrested late last night by Police and handed over to cyber crime.Sincere thanks to our fans who have alerted us very early and the local police and cyber crime division for their prompt response. We have many security features to deter precisely these kind of situations. However, filmmaking is collaborative effort involving 100s of people across multiple locations and we need to work on trust! Sometimes in very rare cases this trust is not maintained leading to this unpardonable and unfortunate situation”, posted Shobu Yarlagadda, producer of the film.
