Vijay and Vijay’s contribution helps aspiring film-makers

As an initiative to provide a platform for aspiring film-makers, The Tamil Nadu Film Directors Union (TANTIS) has decided to host movie marathons at their newly constructed auditorium in their Valasaravakkam premises. The auditorium, which was built with financial assistance from actor Vijay and director Vijay in addition to funds from members of the union, was launched last month by Bharathiraja. It is named after the late veteran film-maker K Balachander.

The movie marathons will be organized twice a week on Friday and Saturday. It will begin at 10 AM and go on till late evening. International films will also be screened and the screenings will be followed by critical analysis with technicians from the industry discussing various aspects of the movie. Speaking at a recent press meet, Vikraman said the union is starting this activity as a measure to get recognition for budding talents in the industry.
