Vaibhav is grafeful to Venkat Prabhu for Mankatha role

Vaibhav says he is grateful to director Venkat Prabhu for casting him in an important role in Mankatha, which marked Ajith’s 50th film. There’s a scene in the film where Vaibhav punches Ajith. “Thalaya adichitiya nee?,” strangers outrageously ask Vaibhav even today. His next film Kappal, a comedy entertainer has him playing the lead role and he says it is his biggest project yet.

“I play a similarly effervescent character as Karthik’s in Mouna Ragam. In fact, one scene in which I pester the heroine to fall in love with me is pretty much along the lines of the famous Mr. Chandramouli scene in the film. Even though we have Karunakaran and VTV Ganesh to provide some laughs, I have to carry this project, a situational comedy, almost single-handedly,” says Vaibhav about his role in Kappal. Shankar, who has acquired the project for his banner S Pictures, is planning to release the film by December end.
