The Masss controversy: What’s happening with the team?

One of the biggest news that caught our attention last night was the mess that Suriya’s Masss had gotten into. Confusions started flying around that Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has been a regular in Venkat Prabhu’s films, had apparently walked out of the project following a tussle with Suriya. To add fuel to the fire, it was known that Thaman has been roped in to complete what was left in the project. Read on to know more.
What really happened in the Masss unit?
Almost all songs in Masss were composed except for one peppy number which was to be shot at a big set in Mohan Studios. Sources say as Suriya was not happy with Yuvan’s lethargy, Thaman came on board to compose a single track for the film. Thaman immediately brought in a localized version of a hit track from Hindi film R…Rajkumar to the team. Contented with the song, shoot has gone on floors from Monday.
What is the situation now?
Miffed with the Suriya and Studio Green’s decision to go for another composer, it is heard that Yuvan Shankar Raja will not be composing the background score for Masss. Meanwhile, Venkat Prabhu played his part to cool the nerves last night by tweeting, “#Yuvan is our #masss music director!!!!!.
Our veritable sources indicate that there is no final decision made on that regard and it is very highly likely that Thaman himself will be in charge of the BGM for the film.
All we can do now is to keep our fingers crossed and hope that things get sorted out soon, leaving a smile on everyone’s face.
