“Sword-fighting is mentally engaging and exhilarating,” says Shruti Haasan

Shruti Haasan, who is currently learning sword-fighting in London to essay the titular role in historical drama Sanghamithra, says the experience is mentally engaging and exhilarating.

“I was so glad to have this opportunity to learn a new physical art form. After having martial arts as part of my life early on, sword fighting was a whole new experience which was physically and mentally engaging and exhilarating. I’m looking forward to using this in my role in Sanghamitra,” Shruti Haasan said in a statement.

The project, which marks the 100th production of Sri Thenandal Films and will be directed by Sundar C, features Jayam Ravi and Arya as leads. AR Rahman will score the tunes for the film and Thiru will crank the camera.
