Swati Reddy doesn’t play the typical female character in Yatchan

Swati Reddy, after her recently sucessful Vadacurry opposite Jai will be paired with Kreshna of Kazhugu fame in Yatchan. Directed by Vishnuvardhan, it has Arya and Deepa Sannidhi in lead roles. “If you have a good feeling about a team and sense that they are serious about conveying a story, you just sign up. This is what I have done with Yatchan and the same with Subramaniapuram,” justifies Swathi on her choice of films.

When quizzed about her character in Yatchan, “It is a strong, supportive character; not the typical female character in our films whose life is driven by her love for the boy. It is Vishnuvardhan’s film, and after meeting him, I could see that the atmosphere would be comfortable to work in,” says Swati to a daily. The film is produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Yuvan Shankar Raja composes music.

She’s also awaiting the release of Amali Thumali, a film she has been working for the past two years. It has Shanthanu Bhagyraj and Nakul in lead roles. Now, the decks are cleared and the final schedule in on. It will be up for release soon, says Swathi.
