Sarkar: Five updates that came with the title and FL poster

Being one of the biggest and most-awaited films of the year, the tag ‘Thalapathy62’ has now paved way to ‘Sarkar’ – the name of the third union of actor Vijay and director AR Murugadoss. The title and first look poster of the film were announced in style on Sun TV, during their 6PM news window on the eve of Thalapathy Vijay’s birthday.

Down below, are five updates that came along with the impressive title and first look poster of the film.

We are working hard to satisfy the fans – AR Murugadoss

The launch of the poster took place with élan, as director AR Murugadoss had a few words to say before unveiling the design. In his AV, the director felt happy that he is working with Thalapathy Vijay for the third time in his career after Thuppakki and Kaththi, and that the film is being shot on a grand scale to satisfy all the fans. He also added, “This film will be different from our earlier combinations in Thuppakki and Kaththi. It will definitely be bigger and better, we have put in a lot of thought. We are confident of making the fans happy.”

Happy Deepavali – The confirmation

Well in advance, the team has confirmed that they will be bringing the film to screens this Diwali. Though AR Murugadoss had already confirmed this through his tweet two days ago, the words on the poster add more confidence to the statement.

Carpet bombing the poster on TV, social media and the newspaper

Sun Pictures have definitely gone the extra mile in promoting their film, by tapping every possible source to get across the content to the audience. After launching the film on their channel and trending it worldwide on social media with the obvious help from fans, they have added free special blow-up posters to tomorrow’s edition of the daily newspaper Dinakaran. Humongous reach guaranteed.

Photoshoot by Kunal Daswani

The photoshoot for Thalapathy62 took place few months ago, with Vijay clad in a stylish suit designed by Pallavi Singh. The shots were clicked by Kunal Daswani, who is a leading photographer now based in Chennai. Kunal has previously done product and celebrity photoshoots, working with the likes of Prabhu Deva, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Gautham Menon, Tamannah, PV Sindhu, Ravichandran Ashwin and more. Interestingly, he is the brother-in-law of Ike, the director of the Jiiva starrer ‘Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thorae’.

Lyricist Vivek’s inclusion

Lyricist Vivek, who came up with amazing lyrics for Thalapathy Vijay in Mersal’s Aalaporaan Tamizhan, has found his way back to work with Vijay and AR Rahman again in Sarkar. Vivek put out a thanksgiving tweet to the team, saying that he’s thrilled to work with the delightful duo and the socially conscious AR Murugadoss.
