“Oru Naal Koothu” Competes in Los Angeles

Director Nelson Venkatesan’s debut film “Oru Naal Koothu” (“All for a Day”) has been selected as a Finalist in the prestigious Los Angeles CineFest competition! The film, which is currently being presented to several international festivals, is one of only 14 finalists to compete for a spot in the Official Selection and a chance to be deemed Best Film of the 2017 edition, which culminates in a live event screening at the famous Promenade Playhouse theatre in Santa Monica, California.

Director Nelson’s debut film released last summer to much applause from critics and overall theatrical audiences. The film received praise for its honest and complex multi-narrative on the difficulties young Indian women face when it comes to marriage fixing. The film’s cast, which includes Nivetha Pethuraj, Mia George, Riythivika, Dinesh, Ramesh Thilak, Bala Saravanan and Karunakaran, were also celebrated for their natural portrayals.
