Nelson on Vijay Sethupathi, Heisenberg rumours & the awaited Jailer 2
Vijay Sethupathi praises Nelson’s writing, Nelson hints at future collaboration, clears Heisenberg rumours, and shares early insights on Jailer 2 with Rajinikanth.
At a recent award function, Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi shared his admiration for director Nelson Dilipkumar, praising his distinctive storytelling. “I like the writing style of Nelson,” said Sethupathi. “The way he writes characters in his films is very unique. I’ve watched Jailer 6 to 8 times; I like Jailer so much.”
Director Nelson, clearly touched by the praise, responded warmly. “I like Vijay Sethupathi sir so much. In each of my films, I try to work with him,” he said. He also shared an interesting anecdote: “Anirudh also said, ‘Nelson, you should do a film with VJS.’ It will happen soon.”
When the conversation turned to the mystery surrounding lyricist Heisenberg, Nelson addressed the long-standing rumour head-on. “Everyone thinks I’m the lyric writer Heisenberg, but I’m not,” he clarified. He added with a smile, “I believe Lokesh Kanagaraj is Heisenberg.”
Nelson also offered a brief update on one of the most highly anticipated Tamil films in development—Jailer 2, starring Superstar Rajinikanth. “We really liked the script of Jailer 2,” he said. “It’s too early to comment on the outcome before the shoot is complete, but I hope the audience will enjoy it as much as we did.”
With such mutual admiration among leading talents and the buzz surrounding Jailer 2, fans have much to look forward to in the near future.
