Pa. Ranjith talks about the crux of Madras story

The first official teaser titled ‘Kaagitha Kappal’ from Madras was released yesterday and created a rage on social media. With Gaana Bala’s unique voice set to the tunes of Santhosh Narayanan, the teaser showed a glimpse of Karthi Sivakumar in North Chennai backdrop.

When quizzed about the story of the film, Pa. Ranjith says, “The story traces the life of a young man living in the slums (from 1996 to 2014). It talks about how the poor are still looking for solutions to the same issues that have been plaguing them for a long time: poverty, powerlessness and so on. They are engaged by the parties to work for them during elections only to be forgotten afterwards.”

The grand audio launch for the film will happen tomorrow in Chennai.
