Lingaa Hindi version release for Christmas?

The Hindi version of Rajinikanth’s Lingaa is likely to hit screens this Christmas, says a source in the know. Interestingly, there will be a tough competition for the film from Aamir Khan – Rajkumar Hirani’s PK, which will hit screens this Friday. A substantial number of screens is likely to go for PK for the soaring expectations of Aamir – Rajkumar Hirani combo. Also, Anurag Kashyap’s much awaited Ugly will hit cinemas on December 26th, a competent opponent.

Meanwhile, the Tamil version of Lingaa has collected nearly 1.5 crores in North India. The figures are likely to show an uptick once the Hindi version gets released. Also, due to concerns about the film’s length, the makers have trimmed the film by 9 minutes now. An official confirmation from Eros is awaited on the Hindi release date soon.
