Is Vidya Balan set to star in Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2?

Production for Jailer 2 is moving at a brisk pace, with director Nelson Dilipkumar reportedly crafting a more expansive and ambitious script than its predecessor. While original cast members such as Ramya Krishnan and Mirnaa Menon are expected to reprise their roles, the rest of the lineup remains under wraps.
Adding to the excitement, strong industry buzz suggests that acclaimed Bollywood actress Vidya Balan might take on a significant role in the sequel. If confirmed, this would mark her return to Kollywood after her cameo in Nerkonda Paarvai alongside Ajith Kumar. However, no official announcement has been made yet.
The original Jailer (2023) featured a powerhouse cast with Vasanth Ravi, Vinayakan, Sunil, and others. Tamannaah Bhatia’s chartbuster “Kaavaalaa” also made waves. While Shivarajkumar has confirmed his return, it remains unclear whether Jackie Shroff and Mohanlal will reprise their roles. Furthermore, actor Balakrishna’s name has surfaced in connection with the film following Rajinikanth’s remarks at his 50-year celebration event.
