Iravin Nizhal Songs Review

Rahman delivers a neat and effective soundtrack filled with melodious tunes!

Shadow of the Night
Kaayam
Bejara
Paavam Seiyathiru
Kannethire
Maayava Thooyava

Shadow of the Night: Instrumental

An instrumental part that runs for over a minute, AR Rahman might be using this for the beginning portions of the film. The flute and keyboard mix over nicely and provide the warmth that the theme needs.

Kaayam: Singers – Khatija Rahman, Deepthi Suresh, Soundarya Bala Nandakumar, Sowmya, Veena Murali 👍

An excellent song which is probably the best of the lot, with a different resounding tone that keeps repeating itself throughout the song. The chorus has been organized in a fantastic manner, and the song has some very interesting lyrics that capture our attention.

Bejara: Singers – Haricharan, Bamba Bakya

A very basic track from Rahman when it comes to an entertaining song in this genre, the composer falls back on his earlier dance tunes and gives out a decent number.

Paavam Seiyathiru: Singers – Niranjana Ramanan, Keerthana Vaidhyanathan 👍

With a carnatic touch, this is a superb track that has excellent lyrics and scores well in all departments. Running for more than 7 minutes, it has a simplistic yet attractive nature that is a beauty overall.

Kannethire: Singer – Sarthak Kalyani, Hiral Viradia

Another fine track in the album that does a fairly good job with the vocals and the music. This does feel like many other AR Rahman songs though.

Maayava Thooyava: Singer – Shreya Ghoshal 👍

Another winner in the album, which has Shreya’s voice used to perfection. A perfect romance number from Rahman that is minimalistic and keeps the baton rolling with its melodious touch.

AR Rahman does not hit it hard here, and rather goes for a soft approach for the music of the album, in line with the theme of the film. There are lots of interesting notes in the album, but the mood that it conveys on the whole is very atmospheric and mild. Overall, a likeable outing from the composer again.
