Income Tax case against Trisha dismissed by Madras High Court

Madras High Court has dismissed the income tax case against Trisha Krishnan for demanding Rs 1.11 crore penalty for alleged non-disclosure of income for the financial year 2010-11. The jury observed that Trisha did not deliberately hide the income.

“We have concluded that the assessee is not guilty of deliberate concealment of income and is not liable to be mulcted with penalty under the Income Tax Act,” a bench of Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice M Sundar ruled, according to PTI.

The appeal was filed by the IT department against an order of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal.
