Ilaiyaraja scores for a classical dance production

While his fans are eagerly waiting for his 1000th album Thaarai Thappattai directed by Bala, Ilaiyaraja has already finished a musical bonanza which will be released soon. The Maestro has composed for a classical dance production Swapnam featuring dancers across India. It will be staged by the end of December as part of Margazhi music and dance festival.

Krithika Subrahmaniyam, who successfully got Ilaiyaraja on board says, “Raja sir has given us 16-18 pieces for the 90-minute production. He has explored classical Carnatic ragas, voice symphonies and violin symphonies. He is truly great. We are going to release eight of the songs, which are about six to eight minutes-long, as a music album.”
