Speaking at the audio launch of Vijay Antony’s Annadurai, producer Gnanavelraja, the general secretary of Tamil Film Producers Council, lashed out at Simbu and Vadivelu without revealing their identities for their unprofessional behaviour.
“At a time when magnanimous actors such as Vijay Antony are present in the industry, we have unprofessional, irresponsible actors on the other side. We have received a complaint against an actor, who has caused a massive loss of Rs. 18 crores to a producer and insisted the latter to release the film with just 30% of what was shot. During his 29 days of shooting, he hardly acted for four hours every day. I’ve never seen such an irresponsible actor in the history of Indian cinema. We are planning to take estrong action against such actors,” said Gnanavel Raja, who referred Simbu and the producer in question is Michael Rayappan of Global Infotainment for his last film AAA.
Gnanavel also added that a comedian, whom we all loved once, has been causing so much trouble to a producer. Recent reports have suggested that the shooting of Imsai Arasan Part 2 produced by Shankar and Lyca has been stalled due to some difference of opinion with the lead actor played by Vadivelu and the team.
