Darbar gets off to a great start at the worldwide box office!
Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Darbar has taken a terrific opening at the box office worldwide, fetching in big numbers on day one. The film took a superb opening at the Chennai city box office, grossing 2.27 crore on the first day, which is a high value considering that it was a working day. Darbar is now the third highest opener in the Chennai city, following Superstar’s 2.0 and Thalapathy’s Sarkar.
Darbar has minted 8.25 crore (approx) combining Chennai city and Chengalpet territory in its Day 1. In totality for TN, the film has taken an opening of about 17+ crore. For Superstar Rajinikanth, Kabali (21+ crore) still remains the best day one opener in the state.
In the AP and TS regions, the film has taken a good start too, getting in a day 1 share of about 4.45 crores.
Overseas, Darbar has taken a big opening in USA as expected, standing at more 620K as of now. The opening for the film is handsome in places like the UAE too, thanks to the release date which comfortably fell on Thursday which is the start of the weekend.
