Catherine Tresa raves about Karthi
Cathrine Tresa, who plays Kalai in Karthi-starrer Madras directed by Pa. Ranjith has showered praise on the Paruthi Veeran actor for his dedication. She essays the role of a North Madras girl who is simple and very bold. She had even undergone a workshop conducted by Ranjith before shooting to get the North Chennai dialect right.
On Karthi she says, “What I admire in him is his dedication. I learnt a lot watching him perform. As a person, he is very warm and down-to-earth.” She is confident that Kalai will give a new definition to a girl friend. “Everybody does not get a character like the one I have played in Madras. I am playing the love interest of Karthi’s character, Kaali, in the film. Kalai is not the usual girlfriend character, who comes only for the romantic scenes. Love blossoms between them when she emotionally supports Kaali, and the bond strengthens when she is part of the ups and downs in his life,” says Catherine.
