“Bala’s version is derived from our story,” claims Rathina Kumar

Few days back director Bala had arranged for a press meet to clarify about the Kuttra Parambarai spat. In the meet, director Bala had told that his film is not based on Kuttra Parambarai but a fictional tale on Vela Ramamurthy’s short story Koottaanjoru. Also he warned director Bharathiraja and Rathina Kumar for making demeaning comments on him.

Now writer Rathina Kumar has filed a complaint against Bala and Vela Ramamurthy in the writers’ association. Rathina Kumar alleges that Vela Ramamurthy participated in the story discussion of Kuttra Parambarai and wrote Koottanjoru based on it; the story inspired by Koottanjoru should not be made as film since it is derived from Kuttra Parambarai. Rathina Kumar has also warned if Kuttra Parambarai story is made as a film he will sue Bala and Vela Ramamurthy.
