I wanted to relive the forgotten era of Tamil cinema: ARR on Kaaviya Thalaivan

Originally set to release last month, the audio of Vasantha Balan’s Kaaviya Thalaivan is likely to be launched in two weeks once Rahman returns from his foreign trip. Rahman has recently opened up about the biggest challenge he faced during the film’s composing. “I wanted to relive the forgotten era of Tamil cinema. But, the biggest challenge I faced was composing the songs while doing a Hollywood movie, which had a completely different sensibility of music,” says AR Rahman to a daily.

The album has 14 songs and seven short-ones of two to three minutes each. The film’s running time is around two and half hours. Made at a budget of Rs. 20 crore, Kaaviya Thalaivan is likely to be released next month. It has Prithviraj, Siddharth and Vedhika in lead roles.
