“Visaaranai received non-stop applause for 8 minutes in Venice,” says Vetrimaaran

Visaaranai, Vetrimaaran’s upcoming film which had its premiere in the esteemed Venice Film Festival, received non-stop applause for eight minutes from viewers during its first screening. “The film premiered on the 10th of September. The theater was a huge 1400 seater . More than half of the theater was occupied. We received non-stop applause for eight minutes after the end. We were all in tears completely,” says Vetrimaaran.

“Dhanush has still not watched the film. When we were shooting for Soodhadi, Dhanush to shoot for a Hindi film immediately. He said he will finish it and come back in four months. Then, I told him I’ll finish a film in between the gap. He asked me, ‘What are you saying? What is the story?’. I told him the gist of Visaaranai. He stopped me and said, ‘Don’t tell me the story sir. Then, I will feel tempted to act in it. You’ll get late again. I will bear all the expenses for your film’ He then came on board and produced the movie,” says Vetrimaaran who will team up with Dhanush for the third time in Vada Chennai.
