Vijay Sethupathi’s Merku Thodarchi Malai to Compete for Jury & Audience Prizes in France

The critically acclaimed Merku Thodarchi Malai (“Western Ghats”) has been invited to the Toulouse Indian Film Festival in France! The Vijay Sethupathi produced film will be competing for both the Jury and Audience Prizes when it screens on Friday, April 13th.  This is the 8th official selection for Lenin Bharathi’s poignant drama about the landless labor class living on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

This will be the film’s European premiere, which has received unanimously positive reviews after playing at festivals in New York, Singapore, and Chicago, amongst other places.

This is the 6th annual Toulouse Indian Film Festival, a showcase that was founded to publicize Indian cinema to the French public and to promote the city of Toulouse, its metropolitan area and the Occitanie region in India.

Merku Thodarchi Malai will screen with French subtitles on Friday, April 13th at 8:30 pm at the Cinema ABC of rue St. Bernard in Toulouse.
