Vijay Antony turns vigilante mastermind in political thriller Shakthi Thirumagan – Trailer out now

The trailer of Shakthi Thirumagan, Vijay Antony’s 25th film, was unveiled today, offering a glimpse into a gripping neo-political drama where justice, power, and deception collide. Directed by Arun Prabu (Aruvi, Vaazhl fame), the film promises a layered narrative anchored by a protagonist who blurs the line between vigilante and criminal.

The trailer opens by introducing a younger version of Vijay Antony’s character, who is mentored by his grandfather on the harsh truths of politics. As the story progresses, the character emerges as a wanted man – described as a fugitive who has outsmarted politicians, businessmen, and even criminals. Everyone’s on the hunt for him, but no one can catch him.

Far from being just a rogue on the run, Vijay Antony’s character is portrayed as a cunning manipulator who bends the system to his will. Using his razor-sharp intellect, he deceives high-ranking bureaucrats and political elites, taking justice into his own hands and exposing the rot in the system.

Shakthi Thirumagan features an ensemble cast including Vaagai Chandrasekar, Sunil Kripalani, Cell Murugan, Trupthi Ravindra, and Master Keshav. Notably, the film also marks the return of actor Kannan, remembered for his role in Bharathiraja’s 1982 classic Kadhal Oviyam.

Beyond playing the lead role, Vijay Antony also serves as the film’s music composer and producer under his home banner. Originally scheduled for release on September 5th, Shakthi Thirumagan has now been postponed to September 19th, where it will clash at the box office with Kavin’s Kiss.
