Veteran writer-producer Panchu Arunachalam is no more!
Veteran writer, producer, director and lyricist Panchu Arunachalam is no more. Hailed as one of Tamil cinema’s most important contributors, Panchu Arunchalam introduced Isaignani Ilaiyaraja in Annakili and is credited as the man who moulded the careers of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.
He has written both artistic and commercial films that helped penetrate the business of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan and aided in expanding their reach to other sections of audiences effortlessly. With films like Murattu Kalai, Aarilirunthu Arubathu Varai, Thoongaathey Thambi Thoongaathey, Singara Velan and Apoorva Sagodharargal to name a few, his glorious filmography is a testament to the stunning legacy he leaves behind.
A documentary titled A Creator with Midas Touch and helmed by G. Dhananjayan of Blue Ocean Film & Television Academy (BOFTA), which throws light on the vast repertoire of Panchu Arunachalam was planned to be released this month.
Only Kollywood registers its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members, film fraternity and friends who mourn the demise of Panchu Arunachalam!
