Vada Chennai to be made as a single film; Lyca on board

Vetrimaaran-Dhanush’s long-pending Vada Chennai is finally set to start rolling soon. Vada Chennai is now planned to be made as a single film contrary to earlier reports that it will be a two-parter, as told by Vetrimaaran in several interviews.

Lyca Productions, who has already made a mark with some big-ticket projects in K’town of late including Rajinikanth’s magnum opus 2.0, will co-produce the venture along with Dhanush’s homebanner Wunderbar Films. Raju Mahalingam, Lyca’s Creative Head, was impressed by the film’s narration and gave his nod to the highly-anticipated project. This marks Lyca’s consecutive association with Vetrimaaran after its successful distribution of critically and commercially acclaimed Visaaranai, which bagged three national awards. The shooting is expected to start once Dhanush completes his ongoing assignment Enai Nokki Paayum Thota with Gautham Menon.
