Director Mohan Raja confirms Thani Oruvan 2 faces delays due to budget, but assures fans the project will move forward soon.
At the JFW Achievers Award 2025 ceremony, director Mohan Raja, known for the blockbuster Thani Oruvan starring Ravi Mohan, shared an update on the much-anticipated sequel, Thani Oruvan 2. According to Raja, the project is still in the planning stages, with the budget yet to be finalized. After reviewing the script, producer Archana Kalpathi reportedly felt it was not the right time to proceed, citing the film’s high budget requirements and the need for the industry’s potential to grow further.
Mohan Raja assured fans that although the film’s production might be delayed, it will eventually happen. Thani Oruvan, released in 2015, featured Arvind Swamy, Nayanthara, and others, earning praise for its gripping screenplay, strong performances, memorable songs, and background score by Hiphop Tamizha.
