Speaking at the press meet of Kaappaan, director KV Anand said, “I feel Suriya is someone who is looking for challenges, he won’t do easy roles. From Ayan to Maattrraan and now Kaappaan, his efforts and energy haven’t reduced even one bit. He’s a constant learner.”
He added, “3000 people work as SPG commandos these days. They are the ones who go the long lengths to protect our leaders. We have lots of films on cops and army men, but nothing on the SPG. That’s my reason to do Kaappaan and bring out their story.”
Talking about heroine Sayyeshaa, KV Anand said, “She is a sharp and brilliant artist. Whenever I narrate a scene, she will always get ahead of me and understand the scene superbly. I wanted a North Indian girl for the role and she fit in perfectly.”
Kaappaan is slated to hit screens on September 20th worldwide.
