Suriya at Sardar 2 audio and trailer launch: “It feels like an international-level film”

Suriya attended the audio and trailer launch of Karthi’s much-awaited Sardar 2 and shared his thoughts about the film. The actor praised the trailer and expressed happiness over his brother’s return as Sardar.

Suriya said he was highly impressed by the trailer and its overall presentation. He felt that Sardar 2 carries the scale of an international film while retaining the identity of a Karthi-starrer. His comments have added further excitement around the upcoming spy thriller.

He also highlighted the story behind the Sardar franchise. According to Suriya, Sardar 2 is inspired by a real-life incident, similar to the first film. He noted that the original Sardar was also based on an incident that happened in India around five decades ago.

Suriya further spoke about the popularity of Karthi’s Sardar character. He said it is a blessing for an actor when a character becomes more popular than the actor himself. He feels Karthi has received immense love for the character, making the return of Sardar in the second part special.

The actor also recalled Karthi’s journey as a performer and praised his dedication to every role. Suriya particularly remembered Karthi’s transformation for Paruthiveeran, which left him amazed. He said the performance showed the level of commitment Karthi had towards his craft.

Directed by PS Mithran, Sardar 2 features Karthi in dual roles as Sardar and Vijay Prakash. SJ Suryah plays the antagonist, while Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, Rajisha Vijayan, Yogi Babu, Achyuth Kumar and Balaji Sakthivel are part of the cast.

Produced by Prince Pictures and Ivy Entertainment, Sardar 2 is set to hit theatres worldwide on September 10. The film is expected to offer a bigger scale and a fresh chapter in the Sardar franchise.
