Sivakarthikeyan reveals seven projects in the pipeline, opens up about villain roles

Actor Sivakarthikeyan has revealed that he has seven projects at different stages of development, while explaining why he remains cautious about playing antagonistic characters despite receiving offers for such roles.

Speaking at the 11th anniversary celebration of the Tamil News Anchors Association, the actor discussed his approach to selecting films and the importance of maintaining the connection he has built with audiences over the years.

Sivakarthikeyan acknowledged that he has been approached for villainous roles but explained that he is careful about moving away from the image audiences associate with him. However, he remains open to experimenting with different characters when a role offers an engaging opportunity.

The actor also indicated that portraying a negative character could be an interesting experience if the performance offers the same level of entertainment as playing multiple roles in a film. While he is willing to explore different genres and characters, he continues to prioritize stories that can entertain a wide audience.

On the work front, Sivakarthikeyan revealed that he is currently balancing two films simultaneously. One is Seyon, directed by Sivakumar Murugesan, while the other is his upcoming collaboration with Parking director Ramkumar Balakrishnan, tentatively titled SK27.

Apart from these ongoing projects, the actor disclosed that he is developing two scripts and has committed to three additional projects. Together, these commitments bring his current slate to seven stories, reflecting his busy schedule and the range of projects he is considering for the coming years.

Having transitioned from television presenting to becoming one of Tamil cinema’s prominent leading actors, Sivakarthikeyan has explored commercial entertainers, action dramas and films with socially relevant themes. With several projects in progress, the actor appears set for another active phase in his career.
