Shamitabh: Abhinaya was awestruck at Dhanush

Actress Abhinaya of Nadogigal and Easan fame, who recently joined R. Balki’s Shamitabh team, is in awe of Dhanush’s performance in the film. She has finished four days of shoot for the film but wouldn’t reveal a clue about her role. “For a few minutes. Dhanush doesn’t need an endorsement from me for his talent but I was awestruck seeing at the ease in which he enacts his role,” says Abhinaya when asked if she was nervous seeing a performer like Dhanush on sets.

Initially, Abhinaya’s father thought someone was pulling off a prank. “It was a surprise for us. Even before I could dismiss it as a prank, I received an email. We flew to Mumbai and things were finalised there,” says her father. She is currently part of Hollywood documentary Possibility in Disability directed by Rupam Sarmah. Abhinaya, the hearing and speech actor, will play herself  in the film. Interestingly, Dhanush esssays the role of a hearing and speech impaired in Shamitabh, which also has Akshara Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan in important roles.
