We had reported recently that the Kerala theatrical rights of Vijay’s Sarkar, the makers have one more reason now to be happy. The theatrical rights to the film in Karnataka have been sold for a whopping price of Rs 8.1 crores, making it a new record in the state.
Sri Gokul Films has acquired the rights for the film, which is the best for any Thalapathy Vijay film. It’s also the second highest ever for any Tamil film in Karnataka after Rajinikanth’s Kabali, which was then sold for Rs 10 crores.
Directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sun Pictures, Sarkar is set to hit screens worldwide on Diwali day, November 6th.
