Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’ lands in title trouble?

Soon after the title of Rajinikanth’s next film was announced yesterday as Kabali, the audio launch pictures of another film with the same name cropped up. Sivakumar, director and producer of the film, says he has completed nearly 90% of the film with only the final schedule left.

“I have spent lots of lakhs to make this film. Wouldn’t I spend Rs. 500 to renew my title? Whenever I went for title renewal, they ignored it. Now, I don’t know what to do,” says a hapless Sivakumar.

Kalaipuli S Thanu, producer of Rajinikanth’s Kabali, says, “We have checked the databases of producer’s council, guild and also in chamber. The title was available and only after that we finalized it. We have come to know about this another film with the same title only now. It feels sad. We are looking for an amicable solution now.”

Since the title has not been renewed, Ranjith and team have the upper hand and there will not be any trouble for their title.
