After Rajinikanth, Sridevi uses ‘personality rights’ in a legal case

We earlier reported here that Rajinikanth has filed a complaint seeking stay order against the film Main Hoon Rajinikanth directed by Faisal Saif. Rajinikanth sought protection against the infringement of his ‘personality rights’ to remove the name ‘Rajinikanth’ in the film. Now, Sridevi has sent a legal notice to diretcor Ram Gopal Varma of Rakta Charitra fame against using her name for his upcoming film Sridevi. Already, the first look posters that depicted a young boy ogling at the mid-riff and navel of a woman have earned the wrath of State Commission of Protection of Child Rights, who filed a suo moto case on RGV for violation of child rights.

Apparently, the film was earlier titled Savitri and now has been changed to Sridevi. The yesteryear actress has resorted to legal measures alleging that RGV’s film infringes upon her personality rights, intellectual property rights and constitutional rights. But, the most amusing fact is that it is RGV’s public relations officer, who shared the copy of Sridevi’s legal notice to the media, which suggests that Ram Gopal Varma is using Sridevi’s name to gain publicity.
