Rahul Gandhi, Kapil Sibal voice out in support of Mersal

The recent controversy surrounding Mersal has taken the nation by storm, with both local and national media covering the issue with their own opinions. To add fuel to the fire, political names like Rahul Gandhi and Kapil Sibal have come forward and voiced their support for the film.

“Mr. Modi, Cinema is a deep expression of Tamil culture and language. Don’t try to demon-etise Tamil pride by interfering in Mersal,” said Rahul Gandhi through his Twitter page.

Former Union minister Kapil Sibal also came out saying “Vijay in Mersal has every right to criticize GST and Digital India.’

Though a section of the media quoted that the scenes would be trimmed or muted, producer Hema Rukmani yesterday confirmed that no such trimming has taken place.
