Priya Anand’s favorite is Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi!

Priya Anand’s filmography is small but she’s been a part of few refreshing films directed by women filmmakers across the country. In Bollywood, she was paired alongside Sridevi in English Vinglish directed by debutant Gauri Shinde. In Kollywood, she played the lead role opposite Mirchi Shiva which marked Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi’s directorial debut. And, now she’s part of Aishwarya Dhanush’s second feature film Vai Raja Vai where she is co-starred with Gautham Karthik.

“They have strong identities as women filmmakers and at the same time, they are nothing less than their male counterparts. My favourite is Kiruthiga; she is a bundle of energy and extremely approachable,” says Priya Anand about the women filmmakers she has worked with. Priya Anand also says Tamil cinema needs more time to adapt to female-centric films. “There is a right time for everything. At the moment, I don’t miss female-centric roles. I am more concerned about the producers; it is important for them to recoup the investment,” adds Priya Anand.
