Pasanga 2 Movie Preview
Over the past few years, director Pandiraj’s name has become synonymous with small-scale, kids-based family entertainers. Despite Idhu Namma Aalu still awaiting its release, Pandiraj swiftly finished the shooting of Pasanga 2 on time and now the film is all set to hit the screens on December 24th for the four-day Christmas weekend. Pasanga 2, technically, marks Pandiraj’s fifth directorial effort and his third film in the kids trilogy followed by the national award-winning Pasanga and an adequately entertaining Marina. Interestingly, Pasanga 2 is Suriya’s sophomore production under his home banner 2D Entertainment which was mainly established to make quality films for children and women. “It was supposed to be our maiden production but unfortunate delays played spoilsport,” said Suriya at the film’s press meet.
Pasanga 2 features a slew of kindergarten kids along with Suriya and Amala Paul, who will be seen in extended guest roles playing a couple. Karthik Kumar, Bindhu Madhavi and Vidya Pradeep of Saivam fame also play important supporting roles. The music composed by Arrol Correlli of Pisaasu fame has already received rave reviews from music buffs. If cinematographer Balasubramaniem’s colorful visuals in the trailer are anything to go by, he will be one of the talents to watch out for in the film.
PLOT
Pasanga 2 deals about kids suffering from ADHD (Attention Deficit Hypersensitivity Disorder). Pandiraj invested immense research over the subject for nearly two years and showcased an AV to Suriya, who immediately nodded to bankroll the project as a co-producer.
Suriya:
Families who come to watch Pasanga 2 will carry home a good message. I have acted very casually in the film. This is a film completely for kids. People who reside in urban areas will be able to relate to the film easily
Pandiraj:
We have showcased the lives of kids residing in multi-storeyed apartments in urban locations. We have tried to portray what kind of education is best for them
Vidya Pradeep:
Pasang 2 is a story about three families -one will be that of Suriya’s, the other Bindu Madhavi’s and the third family is mine. I play a pregnant woman in the film
Amala Paul:
When Vijay asked me the main reason for me to enter Tamil cinema, I said I wanted to act with Suriya. Now, the dream has come true. I have always wished to do films which convey message to the society
Suriya, who watched the film’s final version yesterday, took to his Twitter page and wrote, “#Pasanga2 Just saw the final version! Really happy to be a part of a lovely film by Pandiraj sir! The kids,entire crew and cast!Thank you.” [SIC].
Released by Escape Artists Motion Pictures, Pasanga 2 will confront the Jayam Ravi, Trisha-starrer Bhooloham at the box office.
