There’s no Krishnadevarayar in Tenaliraman

Tenaliraman, touted as Vadivel’s big comeback project after 2 years is anticipated eagerly by his fans. Tenaliraman is a historical comedy film directed by Yuvaraj, who earlier directed Sadagoppan Ramesh starrer Potta Potti. According to historical reference, Tenaliraman is a court-poet in Krishdevaraya’s court, a prominent king in Vijaynagar dynasty, the then Andhra Pradesh. Tenaliraman is popular for his high-witted lectures that outperform the king’s speeches.

When rumors were spread about Vadivelu playing the King Krishnadevayrayar, the news didn’t go well with the Telugu literary associations and they started protests. Now, Vadivelu confirms saying, “I’m not playing King Krishnadevarayar in the film, but a fictitious king, fabricated by director to suit the screenplay.” Tenaliraman is produced by AGS Entertainment and is slated for a release on April 18th.
