Nayanthara’s Kolayuthir Kaalam based on Hollywood horror thriller Hush

Nayanthara’s Kolaiyuthur Kaalam directed by Chaktri Toleti of Billa 2 and Unnai Pol Oruvan fame is reportedly based on the Hollywood horror thriller Hush directed by Mike Flanagan. Nayanthara is said to be playing the role of a deaf and mute character in the movie. 

Hush, which stars Kate Siegel as the protagonist, revolves around the story of a deaf and mute novelist who is struggling to complete the climax of her latest book when a masked psycho killer lands at her doorstep. 

Sources say Nayanthara may not play the role of an author but the character of the original (deaf and mute) will be retained by the team. Nayanthara is also said to be an expert lip-reader in the movie like her role in Vignesh Shivan’s Naanum Rowdy Thaan. 

Yuvan Shankar Raja debuts as producer for the film with his newly-flaoted home banner YSR Films. He will also double up as music composer for the project, which is co-produced by Vashu Bhagnani of Pooja Films.
