Must-Read Quotes From The 24 Audio Launch

The audio launch of Suriya’s 24 was superbly organized with a swift and crisp flow of events. Rahman’s singers performed three songs from the album and to the surprise of everyone, he took to the keys impromptu when Nithya Menen crooned the mellifluous Laalijo, the Telugu version of Aararoo. Karthi unveiled the film’s trailer, which brimmed with breakthtaking visuals of Thiru, some lovely on-screen romance between Samantha and Suriya, few poignant moments on Nithya Menen and interesting glimpses of three different characters of Suriya including the fiery Aathreya and the naughty Mani. As always, we have compiled some of the must-read quotes and highlights from the audio launch for our readers.

Suriya on the growing suicide rate of school students

The recent news of twelfth standard students committing suicides really left me dejected. There are some incidents where students committed suicides even before the results were declared. Everyone will have a good time. They need to wait for it. When I was doing my college, I didn’t accomplish anything but time is the only reason that has brought me to this stage. I sincerely ask students to stay away from suicidal thoughts. We are all here for a purpose.

Applause-worthy statement from Suriya

I couldn’t have achieved anything without my directors. Make me WIN only if I deliver good films. Never encourage my bad films. Then only it will push me to strive for good content.

Suriya on Samantha and Nithya Menen

Samantha will look unique and beautiful in the film. Scenes between us have come out really well.

Nithya Menen just takes few seconds to imbibe a scene and perform it perfectly. I have a lot of respect for her work.

How ARR came on board

I was very skeptical to approach Rahman sir. But then, I asked him to listen to the script. He gave us 30 minutes and Vikram Kumar started narrating the script. It was an auspicious day and Rahman sir was busy with his family. His phone was ringing non-stop. He said, “I need to go”. Then, after a pause, he said, “Do one thing. Please wait. I’ll come back.” And, when he came back, he listened to the narration for six hours. It was Rahman sir who first identified 24 as an ambitious project.

Nithya Menen

2D is one of the best production houses I’ve ever worked with. Vikram Kumar narrated this script to me four years back. 24 is definitely going to be a cult film in the industry.

Karthi

I have already watched the film in parts. My brother has done the villain character Aathreya. I know his villainous side. He tortured me till I was 10 years old. Rahman Sir’s re-recording will be another hero in the film.

Saranya Ponvannan

I bonded with Suriya superbly on sets. Mother-son relationship has come out really well in the film. I was moved to tears while dubbing my part. I felt like Suriya was my real son while shooting the film. Suriya is a discliplined person and has a lot of self-respect.
