A biotechnologist-turned-model in Thala 55

Aijth – Gautham Menon’s Thala 55 is arguably one of the eagerly awaited movies in the offing thanks to some candid, uber-cool, awesome behind-the-scenes pictures of manly Ajith and muscular Arun Vijay that have been doing rounds in the internet of late. It is well-known that Vivek, Devi Ajith, Thalaivasal Vijay, Baby Anikha play supporing roles in the film. However, there’s an interesting character in the film you might not have heard before. Meera Mitun, a biotechnologist-turned-dancer plays a small role in the film and shares screen space with Trisha and Ajith.

This is Meera’s debut film in Tamil cinema. Meera is also a prolific dancer and skilled in more than 15 forms of dance including salsa, meringue, hiphop, bachata etc. After impressed by her modelling stint, Meera was approached by Gautham Menon’s assistant directors to feature in a music video. It was only after that she was roped in by Gautham for a role in Thala 55. “It’s not a challening role, but a marvellous start to my career,” says Meera Mitun.
