Joyous Vibes!

In an attempt to churn out hit numbers with the central theme of the film intact, Yuvan comes up with a compelling album, packed with his trademark touches. Though it is far from his best, Masss is an eclectic mix of electronic music.

Cast: Suriya, Nayanthara, Pranitha, Premgiamaren

Music: Yuvan

Lyrics: Madhan Karky, Gangai Amaren

Director: Venkat Prabhu

Label: Eros

Therikudhu Masss: Singers – Shankar Mahadevan, Ranjith, Yuvan Shankar Raja

Heavy electronic beats constitute this stylish intro song. Except for the hook, there is not much to take home from this one which has Shankar Mahadevan as the savior. However, it will surely be a visual celebration onscreen.

Naan Aval Illai: Singers – Karthik, Chinmayi

Light drums and strings come to the foreground here, as Karthik and Chinmayi rule the roost in this romantic number. The use of autotune adds a new flavor to the track. Our first PICK of the album.

Poochandi: Singers – Yuvan Shankar Raja, Pooja

Groovy club track with a nice little whistle hook. Yuvan nails the vocals as usual, but this one does remind us of Vilayadu Mankatha.

Con Man Theme

A theme track which is churned out of the first song. Will add some zeal to the proceedings in the film.

Piravi: Singer – Vaikom Vijaylakshmi

A soulful composition which connects pretty quickly. The stunning chorus setup is the lynchpin of this track, which has Vaikom at her best too. One more PICK in the album.

Masss Theme

A mysterious theme which has screams throughout, spilling some beans on the horror quotient in the film.

Therikudhu Masss – Premgi Amaren’s Gasa Gasa Mix

Just like every other VP – Yuvan album, we have a remix by Premgi Amaren here too. Once again, a club-centered track with heavier beats and computer sounds.
