Karthik Subbaraj talks about casting for ‘Iraivi’

Karthik Subbaraj’s next film Iraivi is highly ancitipated by film buffs since the filmmaker is yet to announce the cast though an official press release revealed the film’s crew. Produced by CV Kumar’s Thirukumaran Entertainment, Iraivi has Gavemic U Ary, who worked in Karthik’s Jigarthanda, as the cinematographer and Santhosh Narayanan as the music composer. The film was supposed to go on the floors from December, it looks like Karthik has not finished writing the script yet.

“I’m still writing. I hope to start shooting from February 2015. I’ll think of the casting later. Thinking of the cast beforehand prevents the characters from taking on a life of their own. I like to keep my writing neutral,” says Karthik Subbaraj. Close sources, though, say Bobby Simha who played a menacing antagonist in Jigarthanda, will play a significant role in Iraivi too.
