Kamal Haasan to inaugurate BOFTA, the new film academy in town!

We earlier reported about BOFTA here, the new film and television academy in town. Blue Ocean Film and Television Academy (BOFTA) will be officially inaugurated by Kamal Haasan in Kodambakkam on March 4th. Producer Dhananjayang Govind, co-founder of BOFTA, says the long-term plan for BOFTA is to fund at least two films that use its alumni. “Another great motivation is the promise from directors like Vishnuvardhan and Venkat Prabhu that they will choose assistants from the institute,” he says.

“December was the ‘breakthrough’ month. The who’s who of Tamil cinema — Karthik Subbaraj,Vijay (director), Venkat Prabhu, Nasser, Lenin, Bhagyaraj and Vishnuvardhan signed up with Blue Ocean Film and Television Academy (BOFTA). They will spend at least two days a week teaching,” adds Dhananjayang.  

The enrollment applications are likely to be available from the day of inauguration.
