Kamal Haasan says, ‘Come with me to politics’: Rajinikanth

Rajinikanth pulled the legs of his friend Kamal Haasan at the inaugural ceremony of Sivaji Ganesan’s memorial constructed by the Tamil Nadu state government.

Sivaji Ganesan started his own political party, fought and lost elections from his own constituency. Not only in cinema, he had taught a lesson for aspiring politicians too then. His loss was not an insult to him but the voters of his constituency. Fame and clout in the movie industry don’t guarantee a successful career in politics. Everyone needs something beyond that. And, I don’t know what it is. But my friend Kamal Haasan knows it and he won’t share it with me. Maybe he would have told me had I asked him two months before. Now, he says ‘Come with me, I’ll tell you’,” said Rajinikanth.

Kamal Haasan said no one should beg anyone for a memorial to a legendary actor like Sivaji Ganesan. “All the governments will respect him. He deserves it. If I was not allowed to come here as a member of the film industry, I would have made it to the occasion somehow as a fan of movies,” said Haasan.
