Kamal Haasan launches whistle-blowing platform ‘Maiam Whistle’

Kamal Haasan has launched a whistle-blowing platform called Maiam Whistle to address the grievances of common citizens. Through the app, people can report corrupt practices prevalent in the government and expose them. The app, which will have various other features of reaching out to people, is currently in the testing stage and will be officially launched in January.

He also announced that he will tour various districts across Tamil Nadu to understand the problems of people. “Before launching a party, I need to have a strong foundation. That’s what I’m working on now. I’m currently focussing on the structural part of the party,” said Haasan.

When someone asked about how a mobile app will serve better than meeting a political leader in person, he said, “Just looking at a leader and being happy about the contact doesn’t matter if you don’t follow up. It’s no good. But This kind of an app is a continuous pressure on whoever is there in power. It’s a constant reminder and a dialogue which is more important than a personal meeting. That could be arranged, all of them do it.The dialogue will have to be continuous, clear, legible and audible to each other. It can’t be a cacophony of noises and their leader just about discerning that this could be what the people want.”
