Kalyani Priyadarshan talks about Putham Pudhu Kaalai

Talking about the shooting experience of Putham Pudhu Kaalai, Kalyani Priyadarshan told, “All the filmmakers were very secretive about the stories. Sudha mam had told me that it was supposed to be very hush-hush. I believe that Sudha mam didn’t tell her family for a long time, and even I didn’t tell my parents until 2 days of the film’s shoot was about to begin. We didn’t even have our managers dealing with this and had direct calls and contact for the whole process. There were doubts about whether we could pull it off because only 5-6 people are allowed on set and it had to be wrapped up in 3 days,”

“As actors, we are used to working with a lot of people. But here, we didn’t even have people for hair and makeup. It took me back to the style of working in a New York film school, with a really small crew,” she added.

Amazon Prime Video’s Putham Pudhu Kaalai is an anthology of five Tamil short films filmed during the pandemic and featuring stories about hope and new beginnings. The anthology includes 5 short films and will stream from tomorrow.
